Facilitation

You are planning an event, conference or offsite and you want to make it a memorable and meaningful experience for everyone. You want to bring your message to life in innovative ways. You want to make your meeting stand out for an attention-deficit audience.

Events are an investment of money, time and resources. How do you make the most of the time and people in the room? How do you shift people’s mindsets, get your message across and inspire people to take action?

I’ve worked with Facebook, IDEO, the United Nations, and dozens of organizations to create next-level event experiences that exceed expectations. From corporate conferences to executive offsites, I design and deliver programs that lead to creativity, collaboration and innovation. From engineers to financial analysts, no group is too stiff or senior to benefit from facilitated purpose strategy, experience design and community architecture.

Experience Design brings your message and theme to life. Most events are designed just for the verbal, aural and visual learners. Powerpoints and panels can leave people bored, distracted, and tired. Experience Design speaks to six styles of learners found in every audience. To captivate attention, we use multimodal methods: writing, movement, gesturing, art-making, music, meditation and designed dialogue. There’s something for everyone. Some might feel awkward at first but invariably, they loosen up and are grateful for being stretched out of their comfort zone. That’s where the learning happens. That’s what creates a memorable event. And that’s what builds the momentum for action after your meeting.

Community Architecture turns colleagues, audiences and even strangers into a community. In an overly digitized world, events are the most important place to connect with others in meaningful ways.  Community doesn't just happen, it requires intentional design. Most events leave it up to the individuals to “network”. Without proper guidance, individuals resort to familiar social habits. The introverts stay quiet by the exit. The cliques that came together,  stay together. The louder voices claim the spotlight. Community Architecture warmly welcomes people into comfortable space of shared experience. Everyone feels invited to the party. Everyone’s voice is heard. Everyone has room to breathe, express and explore. People leave with a deeper sense of belonging and connection to themselves, each other, the event content and your organization’s mission.
